WHAT DOES IT COST TO JOIN THE SNIPERSONLINE ASSOCIATION?

Nothing! Snipersonline provides our basic services for FREE.
We are though a non-profit organization so contributions to help cover our operating expenses are welcomed. In order to help meet these costs a voluntary $20 per year subscription fee is requested. It is our belief that NO sniper should be denied this knowledge because he can’t afford it. Please consider that we do need funds to keep operating.

Those members that choose to donate a yearly subscription fee are given access to our online database and email archives. This is one benefit you get from your donation. Click Here to learn more about helping Snipersonline.

HOW CAN I JOIN THE ASSOCIATION?

In order to join the association a written application MUST be received in the Snipersonline offices through the US Postal Services. Click Here to be taken to a copy of the application form. After filling in the application mail it to the address on the application.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO JOIN?

Any sniper (as defined in the association’s bylaws), sniper team leader, team commander, sniper instructor, or individual who has shown to be working for the betterment of the sniping community and is of reputable character (for a example manufacturer or their representative, etc…) In order to preserve security the association’s moderator has full rights to admit or reject applicants.

HOW LONG DOES THE APPLICATION PROCESS TAKE?

Once received in the offices your application will be assessed and then processed as promptly as possible. Since we are a small organization this process can sometimes take up to a month. We appreciate your patience.

I GOT AN EMAIL WELCOMING ME TO THE LIST BUT HAVE SINCE NOT HEARD ANYTHING ELSE ABOUT MY APPLICATION.

Once your application is accepted a confirmation email welcoming you to the association will be sent to the email address on your application. You MUST respond back to this confirmation email. This is the final step in the application process. By responding back you are confirming that we have your correct email entered into our system. Until we get a response back from the “Welcome to the List” email, we will not enter you into the association’s email list software.

I SENT AN EMAIL TO THE LIST ADDRESS BUT HAVE NOT SEEN IT GO BACK OUT? and/or
THE LIST’S EMAIL MESSAGES COME IN GROUPS, (SOMETIMES OF TEN OR MORE) AND SOMETIMES THEY COME EVERYDAY OR NOT FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS, IS THIS NORMAL?

Most email list services use what is called a List Serv program. This automated software takes whatever is sent to a specific email address and immediately spits it back out to the list members.

Snipersonline is a little different.

In order to make sure that no junk email, viruses, etc… is sent to the association’s members all email for the list is read and virus checked by the moderator before it is sent back out to the list community. The unfortunate byproduct of this added security is the fact that the list postings are subject to the moderator’s schedule. That means that all the postings will go out after he is done checking them, whether it be morning, noon, or night. While the list is almost always posted daily there are times when the moderator is unavailable for a day or two (vacation, etc…) and thus the posting will wait for his return. This is why there may seem to be gaps in the service. It is the small price of the extra security associated with the list.

WHAT ARE THE RESTRICTIONS AS TO WHAT CAN BE POSTED ON THE LIST?

The major topic of the list shall be sniping. All members are encouraged to post freely and openly any information, ideas, or opinions that are beneficial. Discussions on matters other than, but relative to the main topic are allowed until they detract from the list discussions. Inappropriate vulgarities, spamming, or other unprofessional behavior will cause the offending party to be removed from the list. The list moderator retains full rights to judgment of conduct on the list and to the disposition of consequences for violations of the behavioral code.
